(Manchester, N.H., Nov. 4) — York IE, a vertically integrated strategic growth and investment firm, announced today that product marketing and market intelligence expert Corey Hamilton has joined the company as head of market strategy.
Hamilton will lead the Market and Product module of York IE’s Advisory Services practice and help inform York IE’s investment strategy. He will be responsible for market forecasting, trend analysis, competitive intelligence, growth planning, brand/customer alignment and go-to-market strategies for York IE’s Advisory Services clients, investment portfolio companies and the firm itself.
“The startup world is crowded, so gaining an edge with a better understanding of your market and superior competitive intelligence is the key to scaling strategically,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton brings over 20 years of experience in product market strategy, sales engineering and web development. Prior to joining York IE, he was director of product marketing – infrastructure monitoring at Dynatrace. In his previous role as director of product marketing at Kentico Software, he defined and led Kentico’s go-to-market strategy for Kentico Kontent, a leading enterprise Content as a Service platform.
Hamilton has also worked on the product marketing and market intelligence teams at Dyn and Oracle.
“Startups need to truly understand their market before they define their vision and strategy — what I like to call a ‘market-in approach’ as opposed to a ‘product-out’ strategy,” said Kyle York, CEO, York IE. “You need a strong foundation but also have to be able to iterate, adapt and evolve your market strategy. Corey’s command of product marketing and market research have been apparent since our days together at Dyn and Oracle, and we even worked together at WhippleHill (now Blackbaud) before that. I can’t think of a better person to advise our portfolio of startup partners and help us innovate in-house.”
As head of market strategy, Hamilton will spearhead the Market and Product module of York IE’s Advisory Services practice, which helps companies drive growth by developing a better understanding of customer needs, value propositions, strategic positioning and differentiation. Incorporating York IE’s proprietary Fuel platform, Hamilton will help companies use market and competitive intelligence data to guide their product and service roadmaps.
“I’m thrilled to join the York IE team and help provide top-level advisor support for our clients’ strategic market and product practices,” he said.
