I am excited to announce that we are publishing an ebook today called, “Young Entrepreneur: The smart start to building a business with your kids for fun and profit.” In the ebook, we detail many of the steps it takes to start a business and offer some fun challenges that parents can do with their kids.
You may be wondering, why is a growth firm doing this? It’s a good question.
Here’s four reasons why:- We are at a unique moment in the history of education. We are participating in the largest experiment in remote learning. This transition time is a great opportunity to try something new. I am seeing, like never before, all the different things my kids are learning on a daily basis. It is amazing. I’d like to give a big shout out to teachers everywhere! You’re awesome. I realized I could take a more active role. I thought sharing my love of business would be a good start.
- Our children are exposed early to so many wonderful skills like art, music and athletics. Yet, with the exception of a lemonade stand here or there, I haven’t seen the same early exposure to business. I think making the concept of building and running a business fun early will greatly benefit our kids in the future. Building a business is an exciting way to pull together so many of the developmental skills they are learning. It is also great preparation for what so many of them will do in the future – run or work at a business!
- I realized that I typically spend more time per week at my office than I do playing with my kids. Now many of us parents are trying to work from home. This is a great opportunity for my kids to see me working. Do they have any idea what I do? Sharing that with them will hopefully open up further conversations and give them a better understanding of who I am and what I do. Hopefully, that only deepens our bond together.
- At York IE, we love entrepreneurs and are always playing the long-game. What better way to combine those two philosophies than by helping to educate the next, next generation of great entrepreneurs.
