AI in every engagement

Architecture, code review, testing, and delivery — every engineer uses AI to move faster and ship higher-quality work from day one.

AI features built into your product

We design and develop AI capabilities — chatbots, RAG pipelines, ML models, and GenAI features — that differentiate your product and drive customer retention.

Built on a modern engineering stack

Our delivery model combines proven engineering playbooks, leading cloud platforms, and AI tooling — giving every engagement a velocity advantage from day one.

The Challenge

The R&D friction points we hear every day

Before companies bring in York IE, they’re usually running into one or more of these. The same patterns, compounding the longer they go unaddressed.

Challenge
01

Stalled product roadmap

Features are prioritized but never shipped. The backlog grows faster than velocity can clear it, and customer commitments get pushed quarter after quarter.

Challenge
02

Over-reliance on a few key engineers

When two or three people hold all institutional knowledge, every vacation or departure creates a delivery crisis. Knowledge silos kill velocity.

Challenge
03

Offshore experiments that didn’t work

Previous offshore engagements burned the team — quality gaps, communication breakdowns, and contractors who didn’t understand the product context.

Challenge
04

Hiring full-time engineers is too slow

The market is competitive, ramp time is long, and the company isn’t ready to commit to permanent headcount. Meanwhile, the roadmap keeps slipping.

Challenge
05

AI strategy is undefined

Customers and investors are asking about AI. The team has ideas but no clear plan — no POC, no prioritization, and no one who can own the technical execution.

Challenge
06

Post-M&A tech stack is a mess

Acquisitions left behind fragmented codebases, duplicate infrastructure, and integration debt. No one owns the consolidation plan and costs keep climbing.

Challenge
07

Inconsistent product quality

Bugs reach production, QA is reactive rather than systematic, and release cycles feel unpredictable — eroding customer trust and increasing support burden.

Challenge
08

No visibility into what’s slowing delivery

Engineering runs sprints but leadership can’t tell what’s on track, what’s blocked, or why velocity varies. Without clear reporting, decisions are based on gut feel.

Challenge
09

Legacy architecture limits growth

The platform was built for a different scale. Every new feature takes longer than it should, and technical debt is becoming a competitive liability.

Onshore + Offshore Synergy

U.S.-based strategy. Global engineering velocity.

York IE’s hybrid model pairs onshore product leadership with a world-class engineering team in India — giving you the strategic oversight
and product fluency of a U.S.-based consultancy and the cost efficiency and scale of a distributed specialist bench. Engineers are full-
time York IE employees, not contractors.

Onshore Product Leadership

U.S.-based product strategists own direction, client communication, and accountability. You always have a named operator responsible for outcomes.

Full-time York IE engineers in Ahmedabad, India handle feature delivery, testing, and execution — operating under the same standards, tools, and playbooks as the U.S. team.

York IE vs. The Alternatives

Most companies are choosing between
three imperfect options.
York IE is the fourth.

Before engaging York IE, most companies are stuck choosing between slow internal hiring, expensive dev shops, or offshore teams that lack strategic alignment. Each comes with trade-offs that compound over time.

R&D works better when GTM and G&A are aligned

Product velocity compounds when go-to-market execution and financial infrastructure are pulling in the same direction. York IE is the only operating partner that coordinates all three under one roof.

FAQ

Common questions about R&D engagements

Don’t see your question? Ask us about your setup.

How quickly can York IE become operational?

Most R&D engagements are fully operational within 2–4 weeks. Onboarding covers tool access, codebase orientation, and alignment on roadmap priorities.

How do you ensure quality with an offshore team?

Our model is intentionally hybrid: product strategy and leadership onshore, development execution offshore. India engineers are full-time York IE employees — not contractors — operating under the same standards and delivery model as our U.S. team.

Do you work within our existing tools and processes?

Yes. York IE works within your existing stack and workflows wherever possible. We don’t mandate a specific stack.

Who owns the IP?

You own 100% of the IP. All work is done under strict contractual agreements. We align to your compliance requirements including SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA.

What engagement structures are available?

Tech Due Diligence assessment, a fixed-scope project, or an ongoing embedded subscription. Subscription clients can activate Burst capacity without re-contracting.

Can we start with one capability and expand?

Absolutely. Many engagements start with a single capability and expand as results compound. York IE is designed to grow with your business.
