Introducing a new platform for strategic growth

Why I Joined The York IE Team

Late last summer I had an unbelievable opportunity to join the York IE team as an intern. When talking with Kyle York about my role and the new venture, I quickly became excited because I knew I had the chance to become part of something special.

Shortly after that I was introduced to Adam Coughlin, who has a successful background in marketing and building brands. After meeting with these two, I knew where I wanted to be because of the hunger they had to build a unique and successful enterprise. Learning about what they had accomplished before starting York IE and how they use their experience to guide their vision for this company is inspiring and it is something I wanted to be a part of.

Fast forward to now where I just started full-time as a Marketing Specialist and I couldn’t be happier. I’m happy because I don’t have to go through a grueling job search post college but that isn’t the main reason.

After playing college sports and working here last summer I understand what it means to be part of a winning culture. It is so easy to see the similarities between my college team and York IE. It is all about “buying in.” In sports you are part of a culture, a team, in which you give blood, sweat, and tears for the end goal. The end goal is to win. You do what you do for your team not yourself. Here at York IE, I see a resemblance of that team culture, but less blood. Everyone has “bought in” at York IE and it inspires you to work hard for your coworkers because you know they’re doing the same.

Looking toward the future

My experience here has already grown my creativity. To build a brand you need to be creative and different. York IE isn’t just a venture capital firm. It offers a variety of ways to help people and startups. Helping entrepreneurs get to their goal, not just with money but with advising and brand building. By offering a newsletter, a blog, and social content we can reach so many entrepreneurs and hopefully offer useful knowledge to get them off the ground. The more I can contribute to building this brand through our content and social, the more people we can reach and eventually help.

It’s a new team I’m excited to be part of. Now let’s go win!
