Introducing a new platform for strategic growth

York IE Hires New Account Manager

Meaghan McGrath here – I’m excited to share that I have joined York IE as an Account Manager to help drive strategy and execution across the services we offer.

Making a Solid Bet on York IE

I sat down to write this blog post numerous times during my first week. The excitement and drive to share why I joined the team were there, but the words weren’t coming…which is far from the norm for someone in marketing and communications. Fast forward to Friday at 5PM. As I wrapped up week one, inspiration hit me. Not because I had the opportunity to bear witness to the greatness that makes up York IE, but because I now am a part of said greatness. (Corny, but true.) Summing it up – joining York IE was a no brainer, as others have written before me, but once you hear the vision straight from Kyle, talk about classical approaches to education with Adam (shameless plug to sign up for our newsletter!) and feel like you’ve sat in on meetings with clients thanks to Joe, it becomes even more clear. The vision of York IE is a unique one. What other investment firms in the market are not only giving startups the map to success, but are sitting in the passenger’s seat, helping them navigate? From what I can tell, we are one in a million and for that reason, along with many, many others, I wanted to be a part of it.  So now that inspiration is here, a little about me. I’m a sucker for a good story, am passionate about technology and am psyched that I get to combine the two as an Account Manager here at York IE. I’ll be working under the dream team, made up of Adam Coughlin and Kate Campbell (not to be confused with the 1992 men’s Olympic basketball team), helping our portfolio clients to define their message and voice, develop campaigns and ultimately tell their stories. Prior to joining the York IE team, I oversaw Marketing Communications for a growing SaaS company in the greater Boston area. There, I managed the public relations function, interfaced with the analyst community, owned the social media channels, developed SEO-based blog content and graphics, and ran the website. It’s where I found my true love of metrics-driven marketing communications, using clear cut data to make decisions on the next blog topic, social media hashtag, SEO-based press release title, website call to action and more. Needless to say, it set me up for success as I made the leap to York IE.  Before that, I worked at PAN Communications for close to five years, where I perfected my PR and content marketing chops. As others have said (and I like to think it too), the combination of in-house marketing and PR agency experience will allow me to bring a new perspective to the role of Account Manager.

Looking Ahead

Being a recent New Hampshire transplant – celebrating my one year anniversary of being a New Hampshirite this month! – I’ve had my eye on York IE for a while now. The services launch earlier this year made me realize that this is the type of company I want to be a part of, and it was serendipitous when Kate reached out to me early this summer to chat. Fast forward to now, I am thrilled to be joining the York IE team.  Early in my career I knew that the startup community is where I would thrive. It’s made up of smart, driven folks that aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive into the technology trenches to enact change, and I for one am looking forward to helping them achieve their goals.
