I’m thrilled to announce I’ve joined the York IE team as their latest Content Writer.
Who Am I?
Since as far back into childhood as I can remember, my mother would give me a “word of the day”. She’d make me look up the definition myself in the dictionary. (Remember those?) Now as an adult, I can reflect on how that simple task set the stage for my love of language. Thanks, Mom.
Prior to making the leap into this role, I took somewhat of an unconventional path to arrive here. Jetting off with my
hockey player husband in 2009, I followed his playing career around the globe. For eight years we bounced around cities and teams in the States, which eventually led to living abroad in Sweden and Austria. I like to think that real-world experience, as cliché as that term may be, is always somewhere tucked in my back pocket.
(For starters, don’t let anyone tell you they’ve tried the best coffee until they’ve experienced Swedish “fika”.)
During this period, writing always seemed to join me in that gypsy lifestyle. As a freelance writer, I was fortunate to provide quality copy, from time zones away, to a handful of industries. I find it rewarding to be able to support brands by creating content, learning, understanding, and explaining in a digestible style.
Looking Ahead
As a contributor for York IE, I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves, adjusting my interview hat, and taking the deeper dive into the expertise of their high caliber level of entrepreneurs. By providing insights through thought leadership pieces, blog articles, case studies and more, I’m motivated to tell the stories and spotlight the brand culture behind them, in the voice they want to tell it.
It was a no brainer to jump on the
York IE train with such a talented group at the helm. The vision and values they promote trickle throughout the crew they’ve been assembling and the brands they strive to help grow. Not only are they advising and investing in their business ventures, but they’re invested in their
team members, setting them up for success in each of their roles. That’s why I knew York IE was the next best step for me and my writing. Like minded,
good people working toward the same goal. I’m excited to get the pen in hand and start my story with York IE!
