Introducing a new platform for strategic growth

York IE Enhances Product Development Services with New Engineering Leadership

U.S.-Based Advisory Firm Makes Key Hire to Run Engineering and QA in Ahmedabad

(AHMEDABAD, Gujarat, India, Aug. 22) — York IE, a U.S.-based advisory and venture capital firm for technology companies, today announced its engineering organisation to support its Product Strategy and Development practice.

York IE has hired experienced software engineer Irfan Harun Kungda as senior engineering manager to lead the organisation, which comprises over 100 engineers and quality assurance professionals based out of the firm’s Ahmedabad office.

“Irfan brings a wealth of engineering expertise and leadership experience to York IE and our clients,” said Kalrav Parsana, vice president of India operations at York IE. “As we scale, he will play a key role in our mission to help tech companies build products that drive their business forward.”

York IE Product Services

York IE’s Product Strategy and Development practice works with tech companies to align roadmaps to business goals, scale development quickly and build products that customers will crave.

With an Ahmedabad-based team of developers, plus U.S.-based product strategists, York IE has helped over 50 companies — including Broadlume, Big Network and Shift Group — bring their product visions to life.

“I’m eager to contribute to York IE’s expansion plans and mentor our engineering talent,” said Irfan Harun. “Our team will be at the forefront of product development, delivering high-quality software that exceeds expectations.”

York IE’s product services include:

  • application development;
  • software engineering;
  • data and AI integration;
  • backlog management;
  • user experience design;
  • QA and testing; and
  • platform modernisation.

Previously, York IE engineers were led by the firm’s product management teams. The creation of an engineering-specific organisation will provide them with new opportunities for collaboration, mentoring and career growth so they can ultimately create better, more innovative products.

“As we grow our team and advance our capabilities, the need for bolstering our engineering leadership is critical,” said Mike Veilleux, CTO, York IE. “From the minute I met him, I knew that Irfan’s passion for building technical solutions to business problems would make him a terrific mentor to our team and a strong presence with our clients.”

York IE Growth in India

Since opening in 2021, York IE India has grown from 15 employees, initially sourced from local IT company ACW Technologies, to over 150.

Over the next five years, York IE plans to transform its Ahmedabad office into a global acceleration centre for various business units with 500 employees. The firm has created a sought-after internship programme and is also set to collaborate with Gujarat’s top engineering colleges, ensuring a steady flow of highly skilled professionals into the technology sector.

York IE’s additional advisory services practices include Go-to-Market and Finance. And since its founding in 2019, the Manchester, New Hampshire-based firm has announced 68 investments in more than 50 early-stage B2B SaaS companies around the world.
